New art project idea that I am working on. All about texture, pen marks on paper. Depth of surface on the flat page. They are mixed media, a contrast between the rough, quick pen strokes, the texture and pattern made up of the individual pen marks on the page, and the notebook itself, with the ring binding and elastic. To create a further depth in the work i have scanned the whole notebook page and the depth of the notebook on the scanner plate creates a constant ground on which the pen texture sits. I have enlarged the image on the print to express the inconsistency of the pen with the crispness of the final digital print.
